Solar PV

With over 12 years of experience installing solar panels and renewable energy systems we can help you on your journey to becoming more sustainable. We will work with you to design and install a solar panel system to suit your needs whilst ensuring the aesthetic look of your property is not compromised. We offer a full comprehensive process to ensure that you understand everything before making your decision and we will then guide you through your journey answering any questions you may have and ensuring you are happy with everything.

How does a Solar Panel System work?

Solar Photovoltaics (PV) captures and traps the sun’s energy (known as direct current or DC) using photovoltaic cells. When light shines on the cells this generates an electric potential across the silicon layers allowing a current to flow and produce energy. These cells don’t just need direct sunlight to work, as they can still produce optimum amounts of electricity even on a cloudy day. The electricity generated by the solar panels is converted into power which can be used by the property via an inverter which converts the DC electricity into AC. During the daylight hours, the energy produced by the solar panel system can be used to supply your property rather than importing from your energy supplier.

Basically, solar panels transform daylight into electricity, which can help with savings and earnings. By using your appliances i.e: Dishwashers, washing machines, dryers, slow cookers etc during the daylight hours when the solar panel system is generating is best practice, as this helps to utilise the solar panel system and use energy which is being generated rather than purchasing from your energy supplier.

Why Solar?

  • Reduced Energy Bills

You can make significant savings on electricity bills through the use of the power generated from Solar panels and battery storage solutions.

  • Reducing co2 emissions

Combatting climate change by significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

  • Low Maintenance

Solar PV is a low maintenance product because there are no moving parts. Nightingale advise that the panels are cleaned every year to maintain efficiency.

Mounting Options

On-roof and Flat Roof Solar Panel Mounting Systems

On-roof mounting systems provide a solution for panels to be mounted on any tile, to enable a solar panel system to be installed on any property. By far the most common kind of solar panel mounting. This is a cost-effective solution and will provide ventilation to your panels along with optimal performance. There is also a flat roof mounting system which allows solar panels to be mounted to a roof which is almost level. Flat roof mounting solutions offer a variety of options from east/west splits to pure south facing roof mounts to ensure that the optimal performance is guaranteed.

Integrated Solar Panel Mounting Systems

Integrated solar panel systems come with many benefits. Not only do they look more aesthetically pleasing on your property, but there is no need for tiles under the panels due to sitting flush with the tiles on the roof, making an integrated solar panel system more attractive, especially when you are looking at having your roof re-tiled. In-roof systems prevent birds nesting under the panels and causing any issues as well as reducing the load on the roof due to the removal of tiles. You will save on tiles and reap the financial benefits of a solar panel system all at the same time, whilst also increasing the value of your property.

Ground Mounted Solar Panel Systems

Ground Mounted Solar panels are a great option if your roof is unsuitable for Solar PV, and you have the land available. In some instances, you may have more land than roof space, so a ground mounted solar panel system is a great solution to generate more energy. Ground mounted solar panel systems are the more expensive option but are a great solution to those who do not have the roof space available.
